You know, it doesn't matter what you do in life. There are always pros and cons, there are pluses and minuses. You have to pay for it somehow, whether it's via money, sheep or time, you have to pay for it somehow.

There was a Twitter conversation I was in. This guy had a bunch of meetings today with Zoom and Microsoft Teams and Google, and so on.

He asked, "How many times is it going to take me to change the microphone inputs?"

We've all had that issue when we go from one app to another. Somehow the microphone doesn't work for some bizarre reason. So I gave him a solution, and it was basically sellotaping it together.

Now even though I hate sellotaping things, I replied with, "Use OBS, and you should be okay for now" He didn't want to do that because he thought technology should work. Well, yes, it should work, but the price you have to pay for using technology is sometimes it just doesn't work, and it wastes our time. Here's a solution. You can use it for the moment.

I live on the road, and as you know, I'm a digital nomad, and I love it. But there are pros and cons to that as well. But the pros totally outweigh the cons. And it's the same with this microphone thing, the pros of having this sellotaped solution, which I hate anyway.

So the question is, how much are you willing to pay or sacrifice to do the things that you actually want to do?
